Why is home insurance
so important?

Adequate home insurance can help you get back on your feet and cover your costs when disaster strikes.

Think of this example...a house fire destroys your property in its entirety, and you’re now left with the remaining balance on your mortgage, but no house to show for it.

Don’t gamble on your home. Protect it and sleep better at night.

Common misconceptions about home insurance

1. Homeowners insurance covers flood damage:

Flood coverage is not typically included on your run-of-the-mill policies. This is particularly important to consider If you live on the coast or near any "flood zones". Keep in mind that you'll most likely need to make a separate purchase for a flood policy apart from the insurance you have on your home.

BONUS TIP: since flood insurance has a 30-day waiting period, make sure that you do not wait until a few days prior to a predicted flood to buy a policy!

2. Bundling Auto and Home insurance is ALWAYS going to save you money!

Most commercials on TV or the radio will say bundling your auto and home insurance policies is going to save you money. But that's not true 100 percent of the time.

Once again, that’s where we come in. We will compare multiple policies to help you find the best deal for your needs, whether that includes bundling services or not.

3. Homeowners insurance policies will cover mold damage:

It's important to remember as a homeowner that YOU are responsible for the maintenance of your home. If there is any damage that is a direct result of neglected maintenance (ie. leaky pipe, mold, etc.) it is your responsibility to get it taken care of.
